State of Mind is a "futuristic thriller", an adventure game that delves into themes of transhumanism. In it, a real-world dystopia is planning on using a super-powerful AI to create a digital utopia to which all of humanity can escape, a la the Matrix, no longer worrying about material problems. But things are complicated, and there's also the question: is that, even on its own, right?

Truth, Daring

State of Mind is largely linear, as you play one of the last journalists standing against a dystopia devouring itself with machinery and madness. Though there are puzzles to solve, they are generally quite easy and the focus of the game is just on seeing and understanding the story. There are a few branching paths, and a lot of impressive and chilling panoramic settings to view.

An Adventure To Remember, If You Can

Fans of sci-fi, transhumanist stories or just The Matrix will find reasons to play and enjoy this title. Those who aren't into adventure games, or who don't have pre-existing attachment to State of Mind's themes may not enjoy it as much, but might still consider playing the game depending on the recommendations of their friends and whether they've enjoyed games with similar elements.
